Meet Robin! She started volunteering with us during the Thanksgiving season in 2022 after she retired and has since started volunteering at the Winchester Road Pantry as well. One of her favorite memories volunteering at God’s Pantry Food Bank is dancing and singing at the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade event and meeting her two new best friends and fellow volunteers on Thursday mornings in the Pantry!
“Volunteering has changed my mind about hunger in our community. I used to be one of those ‘they should get a job’ - type of person. I can see how false those statements are. Our Neighbors are working two jobs, are between jobs, disabled, elderly, carrying for grandchildren – not lazy, not making bad decisions. They are just HUNGRY.” - Robin Love
When asked how to encourage someone new to volunteer, Robin said, “Come try it! I was hesitant at first. Despite appearances, I am truly an introvert. Packing boxes was a great first step.”
Robin said, “God’s Pantry Food Bank is such a necessary and well-run organization. All the communities it serves need to get involved, whether volunteering or donating. Let’s help our Neighbors with food insecurity!”
Thanks, Robin, for being such a trusted volunteer to our staff and Neighbors!
