The University of Kentucky College of Medicine has been an incredible supporter of God’s Pantry Food Bank since the Spring of 2023. The group of medical students have given their time serving at the Volunteer Center and Sharing Thanksgiving events. Savannah Saylor, who organizes the volunteer sessions for the group, says, “This partnership has given us the ability to volunteer as a group and individually, allowing members to engage in a variety of projects that address food insecurity both locally and across the state. Beyond helping those in need, it fosters a culture of service and engagement within UK Med!”
“One of my favorite things about volunteering with God's Pantry Food Bank is being able to dedicate time each month to serve the greater Kentucky community while fostering a stronger sense of community with my peers at the UK College of Medicine.”
She went on to share this encouragement with our staff, “The God's Pantry Volunteer Center is an energetic and welcoming environment that fosters a sense of belonging for volunteers and truly makes a difference in the lives of its neighbors and community members. It is the kind of place that makes you want to keep coming back to serve and is such an amazing organization to be a part of!”
Big thanks to Savannah and all the UK Med Students who have dedicated their time volunteering with God’s Pantry Food Bank!
