Coming Together: Supporting Eastern Kentucky

At God's Pantry Food Bank, our mission is to reduce hunger by working together to feed Kentucky communities. In times of crisis, this commitment becomes even more crucial. When the devastating floods hit Eastern Kentucky last month, our community came together with unwavering determination.

Through our disaster relief efforts, we have distributed an astounding 213,633 pounds of food and water to flood-affected neighbors. This is a testament to the hard work of our dedicated staff, volunteers, donors, and countless partners who stepped up.

Partners in Relief

‍

Collaboration has been at the heart of our response. We have worked closely with the Red Cross, Feeding America, Emergency Management/VOAD, and Feeding KY to coordinate relief efforts efficiently. We are deeply grateful for the generous food donations from organizations like Tyson Foods, Jack Link’s, Chobani, Smithfield, Frito-Lay, Meijer’s, Feeding America, McLane Company, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their contributions have been crucial in ensuring families receive the nourishment they need.

Locals Making an Impact

‍

Our partner food pantries and meal programs have played a vital role in distributing relief supplies directly to those in need. We extend our sincere thanks to:

ARO, Auxier Food Pantry, Community Lighthouse, Fed’s Creek Church of Christ, Guiding Light, Heenon Church, Helping Hands helps, Letcher County Food Pantry, Handfuls on Purpose, Lott’s Creek, Manna from Heaven, Middle Creek Community Pantry, New Freedom, Operation Eat, Soldiers of Jesus Christ, Thankful Hearts, Mud Creek, and New Hope.

Additionally, we have partnered with Appalachian Regional Healthcare, Food Chain, Victory Baptist (Knott), Calvary Baptist (Knott), First Christian Church (Pike), and Cane's Kitchen (Letcher) to ensure food and water reach every corner of our affected communities.

Making a Difference Together

‍

The dedication and teamwork of our staff, volunteers, and partners are truly making a difference in the lives of those affected by this disaster. Your support ensures that families have the nourishment they need during this critical time and beyond.

Together, we are stronger.

Our commitment to serving our neighbors remains strong—but we can’t do it without you. ‍
