An Adorable Thank You

Our friends at Common Good (at Embrace Church) dropped this off yesterday and we couldn’t help ourselves-we had to share it.  God’s Pantry Food Bank and Common Good teamed up this summer to serve over 800 meals at their site!  In addition to a nutritious meal, Common Good provides tutoring, mentoring and recreation for the kids.  What could be better?  Thanks, guys!


Look What You Did!

In 2014 volunteers donated 47,000 hours of time to God’s Pantry Food Bank! Among the statistics we track is the number of volunteer occurrences and the number of volunteer hours donated to the Food Bank. The 2014 hours represent a 57% increase over last year’s figure.

The Great American Milk Drive

322 milk gallons have been donated to food banks in Kentucky. Our food banks serve over 730,000 families.
This is an example of the shortage of milk in food banks nationwide. The Great American Milk Drive begun because the #1 reason for the milk shortage is a lack of donations. See the infographic below to learn more about the Milk Gap.

CHICAGO – From pregnancy to infancy through adolescence, the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is establishing strong nutrition policies for core federal child nutrition programs implemented through the U.S. Department of Agriculture. During Kids Eat Right Month in August, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics emphasizes the importance of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act to ensure the youngest, most vulnerable populations have access to the nutrition they need to thrive and to grow into healthy adults.
