Thousands of fans will come together on February 1st to watch two teams compete in the 49th Super Bowl. Advertisers will spend over $4 million dollars for a 30-second Super Bowl commercial. For $4 million dollars, God’s Pantry Food Bank could distribute enough food to provide over 19 million meals.

Over the past several years God’s Pantry Food Bank has been holding the “Souper Bowl of Caring” food drive the Saturday before  Super Bowl Sunday at selected Kroger stores in Lexington (full list below). While many people are shopping for their Super Bowl parties, we are challenging people to give of food or monetary donations. Here’s where, you, our partners in the fight against hunger can help.

On January 31, we will work with all Lexington Kroger stores to do a canned soup drive. We will have volunteers at each of these stores from 10a-2p handing out flyers and our popular “Check out Hunger” coupons, asking shoppers to donate food or funds to the “Souperbowl of Caring” Food Drive.

Please stop by your local Kroger in Lexington during this time to donate, or anytime, any day to check out hunger and donate to God’s Pantry Food Bank.
