God’s Pantry Food Bank strongly urges our local government to support the Fayette County Pantry Program by allocating $150,000 this fiscal year through a combination of FY 2015 surplus funds and FY 2016 Neighborhood Development Funds.  Without this funding, more than 717,000 meals will be in jeopardy and the 50,000 food insecure Fayette County residents, the majority of which are children or the elderly, will have to create new ways in which to search for food.  The Fayette County Pantry Program at God’s Pantry Food Bank has been in operation for more than 60 years and without this funding, the Program, meals, and health and wellness of Lexington’s most vulnerable population is at high risk.
