FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 27, 2015 – Helados La Tapatia, Inc., of Fresno, California is voluntarily recalling 13 products ice cream made from milk, manufactured during the limited period of October 8, 2015 through October 16, 2015 (refer to the inventory list UPC attached to this publication for descriptions in more detail), due to the inclusion of eggs ingredients and soy, which were not identified in the product package and are potential allergens some people. The products were distributed to a selection of shops in the limited area of northern California. The products are sold under the brand Helados La Tapatia.
Helados La Tapatia also being voluntarily recalling its 4oz cream bars known as “Cookies ‘n’ Cream” due to wheat and soybeans unreported; Granola bar and 4oz because undeclared almonds and soy. These products were distributed in Arizona, California, Nevada and Washington. The products are sold under the brand Helados La Tapatia.
By consuming these products, individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to soy, eggs and almonds are at risk of a severe allergic reaction resulting in serious threat to his life.
To date, no adverse reactions or illnesses been reported. The withdrawal was the result of a routine inspection by the US FDA.
UPC separate inventory of the products and their UPC code is provided.
The production and distribution of the identified products have been suspended until the products are properly labeled. It urges consumers who have purchased products Helados La Tapatia, described in this publication, to return the product to the store where purchased for a full refund.

* ALL cased and uncased inventories, both at the member level and agency level, need to be checked. This product may have entered member and agency warehouses through salvage, local donations, TEFAP, local purchases, retail pickups, food drives, or other avenues.
