As our Food Bank prepares for kids to returning to school, beginning August 12, our program focus transitions from summer feeding programs to the Fayette County Pantry Program. The Fayette County Pantry Program serves clients directly through the distribution of a seven-day supply of food to over 1,900 households each month. You can join the effort of providing food for families in need by donating, hosting a food drive, and/or volunteering at one of our Fayette County Pantry locations or at our Main Warehouse. The most needed items are canned vegetables, canned fruits, soups, shelf stable milk, cereals, pastas & rice, and proteins such as peanut butter. Kindergarten through high school students can support their neighbors in need by giving generously during the Kids CAN Fight Hunger Food Drive competition starting August 24 – October 23 at their schools. The school that donates the most pounds of food wins and is eligible for prizes! Click here to learn more about Kids Can Fight Hunger, or contact Rebecca Price at [email protected]
