Aleias Gluten Free Foods, LLC Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanut Protein in Parmesan Croutons and Classic Croutons
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — January 29, 2015 — Branford, CT — Aleias Gluten Free Foods, LLC has issued a voluntary and precautionary recall of certain lots of its 8 ounce Parmesan Croutons and Classic Croutons because they may contain undeclared peanut protein. People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
The recalled products were distributed nationwide in grocery stores and through web orders.
The product is packaged in a brown cardboard box with white text. The Lot Number can be found on the window side of the package. All potentially affected lot numbers are as follows:

There have been no consumer complaints or reports of allergic reactions at this time.
This recall was initiated due to the possibility of undeclared peanut protein in the cumin provided by a third-party supplier.
Aleias Gluten Free Foods, LLC is committed to providing the highest quality products. As an allergen food manufacturer, the safety of our consumers is our top priority. For this reason we are initiating this voluntary recall of the products. This recall is being made with the knowledge of the FDA.
Customers who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to the place of purchase where they will receive a refund. * We believe that none of the products being recalled were processed or offered through the national office.
* We strongly encourage you to notify your agencies within one business day from receipt of this notice.
* ALL cased and uncased inventories, both at the member level and agency level, need to be checked. This product may have entered member and agency warehouses through salvage, local donations, TEFAP, local purchases, retail pickups, food drives, or other avenues.
