COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of elderly people at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods such as grain and milk products, protein, fruits and vegetables.
These seniors have monthly incomes less than 130% of the poverty level. Through this USDA program we are able to serve 5,400 clients a month throughout 34 counties. In fiscal year ‘06-07 more than 2 million pounds of food was distributed to seniors through the CSFP.
